Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program and on track to graduate.
  • Active Pharmacy Intern license in good standing in the state of Kansas or Arizona or willing to obtain by the time of employment
  • Experience counseling patients on medications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex topics using reasoning abilities to apply advanced mathematical concepts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in pharmacy software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications and providing patient education.
  • Learn and apply pharmacy practice protocols and procedures.
  • Use the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process (PPCP) to manage the process and improve patient clinical outcomes
  • Participate in medication reconciliation and medication adherence programs.
  • Perform drug utilization review and evaluation of services and products
  • Contribute to quality assurance initiatives.
  • Gain experience in areas of interest like clinical pharmacy or managed care.
  • Maintain compliance with all work and contractual training requirements
