Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program and on track to graduate.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in good standing in the state of Kansas or Arizona or willing to obtain by the time of employment
- Experience counseling patients on medications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex topics using reasoning abilities to apply advanced mathematical concepts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in pharmacy software applications.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications and providing patient education.
- Learn and apply pharmacy practice protocols and procedures.
- Use the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process (PPCP) to manage the process and improve patient clinical outcomes
- Participate in medication reconciliation and medication adherence programs.
- Perform drug utilization review and evaluation of services and products
- Contribute to quality assurance initiatives.
- Gain experience in areas of interest like clinical pharmacy or managed care.
- Maintain compliance with all work and contractual training requirements
