Internship - Park Manager (Summer)

Summary:

This summer internship with the Department of Game, Fish & Parks places you directly in a park management role, gaining valuable experience in hospitality, customer service, and resource conservation. Make a difference while enjoying the majesty of the outdoors!

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical program (minimum of 6 credit hours).
  • By the start of the internship, you should have completed one year (nine months) of your chosen program (anticipated graduation date a plus).
  • Strong interest in parks, recreation, and natural resources (a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily park operations, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for visitors (may include cabins, campgrounds, or day-use areas).
  • Collect fees, prepare deposits, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors, answering questions and addressing concerns.
  • Assist with park maintenance tasks, ensuring cleanliness and safety of facilities (possible).
  • May participate in park programming and educational activities (depending on the program).
  • Contribute to resource conservation efforts, promoting responsible park use (possible).
