Fostering Economic Transformation in Africa Through Women’s Entrepreneurship

The Graça Machel Trust launches the WCW-I Program 2024, aiming to revolutionize Africa’s economies by significantly supporting women entrepreneurs. This initiative seeks to elevate communities through business growth and foster intergenerational collaboration among women. Having already positively impacted 2,000 businesswomen across seven African nations, the Empowering Female Entrepreneurs: WCW-I program sets an ambitious target to empower 10,000 businesswomen, generating $1 billion in turnover and creating 200,000 jobs within five years.

Application Requirements:

  • Applicants must be young or established women entrepreneurs from Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, or Zambia.
  • Businesses should have an annual turnover ranging from USD 10,000 to USD 500,000.
  • Entrepreneurs should possess at least two years of business experience.
  • Applicants must not be engaged in other long-term entrepreneurship programs.
  • The business should employ a minimum of five youths and show potential for expansion.
  • Eligible businesses include sole proprietorships, partnerships, companies, cooperatives, or groups.
