Respiratory Internship

This internship program at Baptist Memorial Health Care offers an opportunity for students enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program to gain practical experience in a rural hospital setting. As an Intern-Respiratory I, you’ll assist with ensuring optimal patient care by managing respiratory equipment and supplies. This program provides valuable hands-on training while supporting the hospital’s mission to serve rural communities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a second year (or higher) of a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the CAAHEP or CoARC and in good academic standing
• Minimum of a BLS certification (Basic Life Support) to be obtained within 14 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate stock levels of sterile and non-sterile respiratory supplies to ensure patient needs are met
• Process and distribute respiratory equipment and supplies to various departments within the hospital
• Participate in annual physical inventory of respiratory supplies
• Assist with processing returned or unused respiratory equipment
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of and adherence to departmental policies and procedures related to respiratory care
