Non-Resident Associate Fellowship: Exciting news for aspiring scholars and researchers! The NATO Defence College (NDC) is currently seeking applications for its non-resident associate fellowship program. This is your chance to contribute to the vital research conducted by one of the world’s foremost institutions in defense and security studies.

The associate fellowship program offers junior and senior fellows opportunities to engage in meaningful research activities. Here’s what you need to know:

Non-Resident Associate Fellowship General Eligibility

Junior Fellowships:

  • Aimed at identifying and nurturing next-generation leaders and scholars.
  • Participants will engage in conferences, seminars, and professional development activities, both in-person and online.
  • Eligibility: MA degree in any discipline, less than five years of work experience post-graduation, and outstanding career achievements.
Senior Fellowships:
  • Designed to strengthen the capabilities of the NDC’s Research Division through publications, workshops, and mentoring.
  • Eligibility: Completed PhD at least five years prior to the application year, an impressive publication record, and recognized expertise in their field.

Requirements of Non-Resident Associate Fellowship:

  • Open to nationals from NATO and NATO partner countries.
  • Both junior and senior fellows will be affiliated with the NDC’s Research Division on a non-residential basis.
  • Junior fellows will participate in annual workshops and other activities, while senior fellows will contribute to publications and organize workshops.

Non-Resident Associate Fellowship Conditions:

  • Non-resident fellows are not employed by NATO or the NATO Defence College but will be remunerated for their contributions.
  • Junior fellowships are initially for one year but can be extended, while senior fellowships are for two years with the possibility of renewal.

Application Procedure for Non-Resident Associate Fellowship:

  • Interested candidates should email their applications to fellowships@ndc.nato.int.
  • Junior fellows should submit a one-page CV, a one-page cover letter describing their interests, and a sample publication or description of professional achievements.
  • Senior fellows should provide a one-page CV, a one-page research proposal, and an example of academic writing.
