The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. WFP has been working in Afghanistan since 1963, providing food assistance to vulnerable Afghans affected by conflict and natural disasters. In the approved Country Strategic Plan (2018-2022), WFP Afghanistan aims to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030 through various outcomes, including emergency response, livelihood creation, nutrition programs, and strengthening national food systems. As a WFP staff member, you’ll contribute to meaningful programs that directly benefit food-insecure Afghans, including women, children, and families.

Education & Qualifications Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with a strong interest in data science, GIS, and analytics.
  • Applied knowledge of GIS and programming for data is desirable.
  • Experience with GIS packages such as QGIS, and ArcGIS, and using GIS data in Python, R, or similar is advantageous.

Work Experiences:

  • Plan, coordinate, and provide a full range of site maintenance and installation works, ensuring preventive maintenance for generators, water heaters, water pumps, and other equipment.
  • Coordinate pottering and cleaning services to maintain an organized, safe, and clean work environment.
  • Support deployment of and provide technical supervision to external contractors for major electrical installations, maintenance, or repairs.
