OHCHR founded in 1993, It operates under the UN General Assembly and is headed by the High Commissioner for Human Rights. This global office works to address human rights violations, provide assistance to governments and civil society in promoting and protecting human rights, and raise awareness about international human rights standards. Education & Qualifications Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in international law / human rights.
  • Have a University degree in international relations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in political sciences.
  • Have a University degree in public relations.

Work Experiences:

  • Professional experience in working in human rights / political affairs.
  • Professional experience in international relations & law.
  • Perfect experience in human rights.
  • Experience in international criminal law investigations.
  •  Good ability to conceptualize ideas and advocate consensus.
  • Good in Presentation skills.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure to achieve multiple deadlines.
  • Full knowledge of understanding of NGOs’ missions and goals.
  • Knowledge of international public relations.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English language is Required (both oral and written).
  • Having a Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) both oral and written.

Key Responsibilities Career:

  • Responsible for serving as the Deputy Head of Office and Representing the Office in the absence of the OHCHR Head of Office in Guatemala.
  • Responsible for supervising and coordinating the office’s human rights monitoring and documentation work.
  • Responsible for working with UN and non-governmental programs in the country to integrate human rights perspectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring human rights issues, including their gender equality dimensions considerations.
  • Responsible for providing legal advice and analysis on cases, public policies, capacity building to national authorities, and legislative proposals.
