This summer internship offers a unique opportunity for college students passionate about safety to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated safety team to identify and address potential hazards, while contributing to a culture of safety excellence at Waupaca Foundry.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in safety, engineering, or a related field (e.g., industrial hygiene, environmental science)
  • Strong commitment to safety principles and a proactive approach to risk prevention
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with safety inspections of foundry equipment, buildings, and work processes
  • Participate in the investigation of safety incidents and near misses
  • Help develop and implement safety improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the creation of safety training materials
  • Support safety awareness programs for employees
