Horticulture Internship

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in public gardens and a desire to pursue a career in public horticulture (a plus)
• Basic knowledge of plant material and landscape maintenance techniques (perennials, bulbs, shrubs, trees, vines)
• Ability to safely operate and maintain various landscaping tools and equipment
• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planting, care, and maintenance of a variety of garden areas
• Participate in tasks like watering, weeding, deadheading, and pruning
• Learn propagation techniques and contribute to plant production in the greenhouse
• Assist with special events and educational programs.
• Maintain accurate records and document plant growth and care.
