Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in public gardens and a desire to pursue a career in public horticulture (a plus)
- Basic knowledge of plant material and landscape maintenance techniques (perennials, bulbs, shrubs, trees, vines)
- Ability to safely operate and maintain various landscaping tools and equipment
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Assist with the planting, care, and maintenance of a variety of garden areas
- Participate in tasks like watering, weeding, deadheading, and pruning
- Learn propagation techniques and contribute to plant production in the greenhouse
- Assist with special events and educational programs.
- Maintain accurate records and document plant growth and care.
