RecSports Student Assistant - Operations Internship (University of Florida)

This internship provides hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of the University of Florida’s Department of Recreational Sports (RecSports). You’ll play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all facility users. The position offers a chance to develop professional relationships, gain valuable skills in project management, and contribute to a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled at the University of Florida with eligibility for on-campus employment
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within the first week of employment.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends (flexible scheduling within part-time limits)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various tasks related to special projects, staff development, and staff training
  • Ensure the smooth operation of all RecSports facilities
  • Develop positive relationships with staff, participants, and guests
  • Uphold the department’s core values of accountability, anticipating needs, positive attitude, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Complete assigned administrative duties (may include data entry, scheduling, etc.)
