This internship provides hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of the University of Florida’s Department of Recreational Sports (RecSports). You’ll play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all facility users. The position offers a chance to develop professional relationships, gain valuable skills in project management, and contribute to a dynamic team environment.
Qualifications
- Enrolled at the University of Florida with eligibility for on-campus employment
- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within the first week of employment.
- Availability to work nights and weekends (flexible scheduling within part-time limits)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
Responsibilities
- Assist with various tasks related to special projects, staff development, and staff training
- Ensure the smooth operation of all RecSports facilities
- Develop positive relationships with staff, participants, and guests
- Uphold the department’s core values of accountability, anticipating needs, positive attitude, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Complete assigned administrative duties (may include data entry, scheduling, etc.)
