Epidemiology Informatics Intern

Eskenazi Health is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Epidemiology Informatics Intern to join our team. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between public health and technology by supporting the collection, analysis, and interpretation of epidemiological data. You’ll gain valuable experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment, contributing to public health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in public health, epidemiology, bioinformatics, or a related field
• Strong understanding of public health principles and practices
• Proficient in data analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS) (a plus)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Eager to learn and apply knowledge in a real-world public health setting

Responsibilities

• Assist epidemiologists with data collection, cleaning, and analysis related to public health initiatives
• Participate in the development and maintenance of public health databases
• Generate reports and presentations to communicate epidemiological findings to stakeholders
• Stay current on emerging public health trends and data analysis methodologies
• Assist with contact tracing and disease outbreak investigations.
