Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a law school program (JD program or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of contract law principles and commercial transactions
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in legal research tools and legal writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and collaborative demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English, with fluency in an additional language (French a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts (e.g., international sales contracts, service agreements, NDAs)
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on relevant legal issues
  • Support the legal team with due diligence processes for contract counterparties
  • Assist with managing contract lifecycles and ensuring adherence to contractual terms
  • Participate in contract negotiation meetings (may vary by project)
  • Stay up-to-date on current legal developments in international trade and maritime law
