Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a law school program (JD program or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of contract law principles and commercial transactions
- Excellent research and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Proficient in legal research tools and legal writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and collaborative demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English, with fluency in an additional language (French a plus)
Responsibilities
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts (e.g., international sales contracts, service agreements, NDAs)
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on relevant legal issues
- Support the legal team with due diligence processes for contract counterparties
- Assist with managing contract lifecycles and ensuring adherence to contractual terms
- Participate in contract negotiation meetings (may vary by project)
- Stay up-to-date on current legal developments in international trade and maritime law
