Climate Justice Research and Policy Adviser, you will lead the development of strategies and policies that address the intersection of climate change and social justice. You will conduct research, analyze data, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that climate solutions are equitable, inclusive, and address the needs of vulnerable communities.
Main Responsibilities of Climate Justice Research and Policy Adviser
- Research and Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research on climate justice issues, including policy gaps and socio-economic impacts of climate change.
- Analyze international, regional, and national climate policies for their equity and inclusivity.
- Identify and document best practices for integrating climate justice into policymaking.
- Policy Development
- Develop policies and strategies to promote climate justice at various levels of governance.
- Provide expert advice to governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders on equitable climate solutions.
- Advocate for the inclusion of marginalized communities in climate decision-making processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with grassroots organizations, civil society groups, and government agencies.
- Facilitate workshops, dialogues, and consultations on climate justice topics.
- Build partnerships to amplify the voices of vulnerable populations in climate action.
- Advocacy and Communication
- Draft policy briefs, reports, and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Represent the organization at conferences, forums, and policy discussions.
- Develop and execute campaigns to raise awareness about climate justice.
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Assess the impact of implemented climate policies on marginalized groups.
- Track global and local trends in climate justice and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills of Climate Justice Research and Policy Adviser
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Policy, Climate Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Expertise in climate justice, sustainable development, or human rights.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in policy advising and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work with diverse communities and advocate for their inclusion.
