This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students passionate about agriculture to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the agronomy field. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, learning about seed selection, and crop management practices, and contributing to Hefty Seed Company’s mission of helping farmers succeed.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Agronomy, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field (minimum of 1 year completed)
  • A strong interest in learning about agronomy practices and the seed industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • A valid driver’s license (depending on location)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inventory management of seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural products
  • Participate in agronomy training sessions to learn about seed selection, crop protection, and best practices
  • Assist with field scouting activities to assess crop health (as trained)
  • Help prepare and maintain demonstration plots and informational signage
  • Assist customers with product selection and answer basic questions about agronomy.
