Accounting Internship

YMCA Finance & Accounting Internship (Fall 2024)

Summary:

Launch your accounting career and make a positive impact at the YMCA of the North Shore with the Fall 2024 Finance & Accounting Internship program! Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accounting or related area bachelor’s degree program.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • A genuine interest in non-profit organizations and a desire to give back to the community (a plus).

Responsibilities:

(Responsibilities may vary depending on specific projects and supervisor needs, but may include):

  • Assist with various accounting tasks, such as accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
  • Gain exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management processes. (May vary)
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures under the guidance of experienced staff.
  • Assist with payroll processing and tax reporting (may vary by location).
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
