The World Cinema Fund (WCF) Africa supports film projects from sub-Saharan Africa. The WCF Africa is a cooperation between the Berlin International Film Festival and the German Federal Foreign Office. The WCF Africa aims to promote the diversity and artistic quality of African cinema and to foster cultural exchange and dialogue.

Eligibility:
The applicants must be from sub-Saharan Africa or have a co-producer from sub-Saharan Africa. The projects must have a link to the region in terms of content or artistic involvement. The projects must be feature-length films (fiction or documentary) with a minimum length of 70 minutes. The projects must have a realistic chance of being completed by October 2024.
Benefits:
The maximum funding amount is 80,000 euros per project. The funding is intended for production and post-production costs. The funding is paid out in several instalments according to a payment plan. The funding is subject to the condition of a profit participation and a share of the copyright.
