Data Scientist Intern

VNS Health is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to join their growing data science team. This internship provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in applying data analysis and machine learning techniques to real-world challenges in the home healthcare industry. You will work alongside experienced data scientists to contribute to impactful projects that improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (with coursework in statistics, machine learning, and programming)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and trends in data
• Programming proficiency in languages like Python or R (familiarity with SQL a plus)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies

Responsibilities:

• Assist data scientists with data cleaning, preparation, and analysis
• Work on projects to develop machine learning models for various purposes (e.g., patient risk prediction, resource allocation, readmission prevention)
• Visualize data insights through clear and informative dashboards and reports
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to improve data-driven decision-making at VNS Health
• Stay up-to-date on emerging trends in data science and healthcare analytics
