Youth Programme Officer at FAO

Youth Programme Officer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives aimed at empowering young people and promoting youth-led activities. The role involves working closely with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, community organizations, and youth groups, to deliver impactful programs aligned with the organization’s mission and objectives.

Main Responsibilities Youth Programme Officer :

  • Develop, plan, and implement youth-centric programs and activities, ensuring they align with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and manage outreach efforts to engage young people in program initiatives, events, and advocacy campaigns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including youth groups, community leaders, and partner organizations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, providing timely feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead capacity-building workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs for young participants.
  • Prepare progress reports, grant applications, and other documentation as required by funders or organizational leadership.
  • Advocate for youth development and inclusion by representing the organization in conferences, meetings, and public forums.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the youth development sector.

Required Qualifications and Skills as Youth Programme Officer :

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Youth Development, Education, International Relations, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in program management, particularly in youth-related initiatives.
    • Familiarity with working in multicultural environments and engaging diverse youth groups.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and project management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and presentation.
    • Knowledge of fundraising, grant writing, and stakeholder engagement is an asset.
