Fees:
There are no fees to volunteer with The Footpath Library.
Main Roles:
- Book Selection and Packing: Help select and pack books for mobile library deployments.
- Mobile Library Assistant: Assist with setting up, running, and packing down mobile library services on-site.
- Event and Fundraising Support: Assist with planning and running fundraising events or other special initiatives.
Requirements:
- 18 years or older (16-17 year olds may be considered with parental permission)
- Passion for books and a desire to help others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (for mobile library assistant role)
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will vary depending on the chosen role, but may include:
- Selecting books based on client preferences and interests
- Packing books and materials for mobile library deployments
- Setting up and packing down mobile library stations at various locations
- Engaging with clients in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Assisting clients in finding books and resources
- Promoting The Footpath Library and its mission
