Summary:
This assignment is for a Data and Reporting Assistant in Bahrain, focusing on the Sustainable Development Goal of partnerships for the goals. The volunteer will work onsite for 6 months, with the possibility of an extension. The host entity is UNRCO. The main responsibilities of the volunteer include tracking socio-economic developments in the Arab States region, collecting and compiling data on socio-economic affairs, maintaining and updating databases, streamlining socio-economic researching and reporting, providing daily updates on access and closure developments, supporting research assignments, preparing information packages and reports, and assisting with data management and archiving. The volunteer is also expected to strengthen their understanding of volunteerism, engage in reflection activities, contribute articles on field experiences, participate in the UNV Buddy Programme, and promote online volunteering.

Requirements:
- Candidate must be a national of a country other than Bahrain.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Data Analysis, Affinity with Research and Reporting; Knowledge of socio-economic.
- Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge in English.
- 10 years of experience in data collection, entry and analysis; affinity with research and reporting; knowledge of socio-economic and access issues in the Arab States region; good knowledge of computer applications, as relevant to the post.
- Proven skills in data collection, entry, and analysis.
- Ability to produce engaging communication materials in English and Arabic.
- Proven skills in database maintenance and management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by the ability to conceptualize ideas and pro-mote consensus. – Ability to work under pressure while producing results.
- Knowledge or sound understanding of key socioeconomic indicators relevant to the Arab States.
- Tact, discretion and diplomacy. Desirable experience: Knowledge of the UN system including the UN Resident Coordinator’s Offices.
