Summary:

The assignment is for a Monitoring & Evaluation Officer in India, hosted by UNICEF, with an expected start date of 22/04/2024. The assignment aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 8, focusing on decent work and economic growth. It is a 12-month onsite assignment with the possibility of extension. The Officer will support the implementation of a results-based approach and innovative M&E approaches in areas such as education, skilling, employability, and youth engagement. They will analyze data, provide strategic support, facilitate the integration of methodologies and tools, coordinate monitoring efforts, and assist in research and data reporting. The expected outputs include building an evidence base for policy advocacy, internalizing M&E aspects, and establishing an information management system.

Location:

New Delhi, India

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Economic, Social Sciences, Statistics, Monitoring, Evaluation or related field.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi.
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Monitoring, research and evaluation background and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, preferably with specialization in areas of adolescent and youth engagement, learning, training and employment.
  • Developing country work and/or field experience an asset.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan, develop, implement, monitor evaluate and report on programmes in the areas indicated above, and to transfer knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to develop partnerships and to network in the areas of monitoring and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of the latest developments and technology in related fields.
  • Analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills, excellent writing skills. Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
