Special Needs Care Volunteer Program in Mexico - Merida
Summary:
International Volunteer HQ’s Special Needs Care project empowers volunteers to assist in a home for people with disabilities in Mérida. Volunteers gain experience supporting disabled people while helping local staff provide them with therapy, entertainment and basic care in a safe and positive environment. Moreover, the project offers flexible durations ranging from 1 to 24 weeks, allowing you to choose the volunteering period that aligns with your availability.

Fees:
The fees and the number of weeks vary depending on the volunteer’s choice, with program fees starting from $345 for 1 week. Additionally, all programs attract a registration fee of US$329, which covers all pre-departure support services. The program fee includes accommodation, breakfast and dinner, airport pick-up, orientation and 24/7 support.
Aims:
- Contribute to the development and integration of people with disabilities, enabling them to lead dignified and meaningful lives. By providing physical, mental, and therapeutic care, volunteers support their overall well-being and help them become more integrated into society.
- Provide volunteers with the opportunity to develop their communication skills and gain valuable hands-on experience working with people with disabilities, including providing care, assisting with therapy, and facilitating workshops, thereby fostering their personal growth and enhancing their professional skill-set.
- Offer volunteers the opportunity to immerse themselves in Mexican culture, explore the rich history of Merida, and create meaningful connections with the local community by engaging in local initiatives, fostering a deeper understanding of the culture and strengthening their bonds with the individuals they serve.
