Summary:
International Volunteer HQ’s Elderly Care project enables volunteers to assist in care facilities for seniors who have nobody else to look after them. Volunteers gain experience caring for the elderly while making a real difference in the lives of older people who are likely to be homeless, ill or have disabilities. Moreover, the project offers flexible durations ranging from 1 to 16 weeks, allowing you to choose the volunteering period that aligns with your availability.

Fees:
The fees and the number of weeks vary depending on the volunteer’s choice, with program fees starting from $385 for 1 week. Additionally, all programs attract a registration fee of US$329, which covers all pre-departure support services. The program fee includes accommodation, meals, airport pick-up, orientation and 24/7 support
Aims:
- Contribute to the well-being and quality of life of vulnerable older individuals who are homeless, ill, or have disabilities by assisting in care facilities where they lack support from others.
- Help address the challenges of under-staffed, under-resourced, and unstructured elderly care facilities by offering assistance, with the goal of enhancing the overall functioning and quality of these facilities, thereby creating a better environment for the residents.
- Provide volunteers with an immersive experience in Zambian culture, allowing them to embrace the local way of life, engage with the community, and further enrich their volunteering experience by exploring the captivating wildlife of Africa.
- Provide volunteers with an opportunity to develop their communication skills, acquire valuable experience in elderly care, enhance their ability to work independently and take initiative, and foster personal growth while building professional skills through the program.
