Aims and Benefits
Each year, we support up to eight young ambassadors aged 17–24 across the country to build their confidence in speaking up for what’s important to the next generation.
You’ll travel across New Zealand to meet and understand what matters most to other rangatahi while representing your individual communities and cultures.
As part of the programme, you’ll also receive specialist training and tons of support for wider youth engagement.
Supported by UNICEF Aotearoa, you’ll then be able to raise the important issues with the key decision-makers.
Government Relations:
You’ll be given opportunities to talk and meet with ministers at Parliament to raise those big issues and champion the voice and dreams of rangatahi in Aotearoa.
Requirements / Qualification
It doesn’t matter what background, skill set, or experience UNICEF Aotearoa’s Young Ambassadors come with. It doesn’t matter where you were born or went to school, how high your grades are, or even what colour your hair is.
We’re looking for people who’ll champion the rights of rangatahi and speak out on social and environmental issues important to them. And we want to help whoever that might be by empowering other young people to find their own voice and speak out about what they feel strongly about too.
