Turtle Conservation Volunteer Program in Trinidad and Tobago - International Volunteer HQ

This program, offered by International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ), is a unique opportunity to directly contribute to the protection of endangered sea turtles in Trinidad and Tobago. You’ll join a local NGO and participate in night patrols on the beaches during nesting season (April to August) to ensure the safe nesting and hatching of Leatherback, Green, and Hawksbill turtles.

Location

The program is based in Crown Point, a village on Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago’s smaller island. Your volunteer work will focus on patrolling beaches in the surrounding areas.

Fees

IVHQ offers program fees that start at an attractive price, around $620 for a week. This fee covers your accommodation with other volunteers (including breakfast only), airport pick-up, project placement, 24/7 in-country support, and an orientation session. Program lengths range from 1 to 4 weeks, with the turtle conservation aspect limited to nesting season (April-August).
