Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a turfgrass management program (or a related field) at a two-year or four-year college
- A strong work ethic, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks
- Passion for sports turf maintenance and a keen eye for detail
- Experience with operating and maintaining lawn care equipment (a plus)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Assist the Athletic Turf Manager with daily field maintenance activities, including mowing, watering, fertilizing, and pest control
- Learn proper techniques for soil cultivation, drainage management, and overseeding
- Help prepare the field for games and events, including line striping and applying logos
- Contribute to maintaining the overall aesthetics of Haymarket Park’s surrounding landscape
- Participate in data collection and record-keeping tasks related to field conditions
