Tunisia: UNV Monitoring Volunteer

Summary:

A 12-month volunteer job as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist/Officer is available via the United Nations Volunteers Program in Tunisia, beginning on January 02, 2024. This voluntary work is a component of the UNDP’s initiative to assist Libya in bolstering the rule of law and justice.

Roles and responsibilities:

Monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up:

• Take the lead in creating and finishing the project M&E framework using the last, authorized project work plan as a guide.
• assisting in the creation of tools and frameworks for project monitoring and activities.
• To administer the indicator framework, create and maintain a database.
• In compliance with UNDP guidelines, draft terms of reference and assessment questions should be prepared for reviews and assessments.
• Oversee and carry out MEL activities by the yearly work plan, paying particular attention to outcomes and implications as well as lessons learned.
• To get quarterly progress towards obtaining yearly results, a quarterly results tracker comprising activities, key indicators, foundations, and objectives within the project outputs should be prepared.

Reports: 

• Oversee project reporting tasks, ensuring accurate and organized inputs.
• Assist in data gathering and evaluation for reporting and educational purposes.
• Develop technologies for continuous data gathering and feedback channels.
• Manage communication related to the rule of law project, including database upkeep and media releases.

Acquiring knowledge and enhancing competencies: 

• Lead training sessions, identify best practices, and assist in risk assessment.
• Develop yearly work schedules and produce reports for internal and external audiences.
• Present project lessons learned every six months, emphasizing outcomes.
• Support reporting, event planning, and communication initiatives.
• Organize learning activities and share project learning opportunities.
• Fulfill additional assigned responsibilities.
• Implement monitoring, assessment, and follow-up procedures.
• Ensure timely and high-quality reports to funders and UNDP.
• Summarize voluntary activities for peace and development achievements.

Application requirements:

You Must Have:

• Master’s degree in the social sciences, law, the general sciences, or a similar discipline, or its equivalent.
• Instead of an advanced degree, consideration will be given to a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) with an extra two years of qualifying experience.
• Three years of experience working on international development projects or programs at the national and/or international level, ideally in the fields of justice, human rights, or the rule of law. At least two of those years must have been spent directly managing MEL systems.
• Experience gained via employment with the UN or other international development agencies.
• Outstanding writing, presenting, and analyzing abilities.
• Outstanding writing, reporting, and oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency with computers and basic database applications (such as Access, Excel, etc.)
