Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a program related to linguistics, translation, or related studies.
- Previous academic or work experience in an international environment is advantageous
- Bilingual or multilingual with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and another language (fluency in additional languages a plus).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience in the fields of translation, interpretation, or linguistics would be an asset.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana) is a plus.
- A keen eye for detail and a meticulous approach to quality assurance.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills for effective communication with clients and linguists.
Responsibilities
- Assist project managers with tasks like client intake, project setup, and quote preparation.
- Manage translator and interpreter assignments, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery.
- Conduct research to find qualified linguists based on project requirements and subject matter expertise.
- Utilize project management tools to track project progress, deadlines, and budgets.
- Proofread translated documents for accuracy, terminology consistency, and cultural sensitivity.
- Coordinate communication between clients, linguists, and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Gain exposure to different translation and interpreting specialties (e.g., legal, medical, technical).
