Qualification:
- Knowledge of CNC Machining and experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably utilizing surfacing techniques. Familiarity with Delcam PowerShape and/or Creo Parametric software is preferred.
- Ability to create 3D models based on 2D layout drawings.
- Proficiency in understanding and applying non-uniform shrink, draft, and offset parting to models.
- Capability to compare 3D part models with 2D casting layout drawings to ensure accuracy.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Enrolled in post-high school education for the Fall 2024 semester.
- Completion of at least one year in a related field is preferred.
- Considered a full-time student with a course load of 12 credits or more.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating directly with foundry tooling engineers to support the design, configuration, and build layout of mold and core box tooling.
- Following instructions from tooling engineering to lay out multiple cavity tooling.
- Designing cores, including print area adjustments, to meet casting requirements.
- Utilizing Delcam, PowerShape software to modify CAD data, incorporating shrink, draft, radii, and fillet modifications.
- Assisting the CAM Designer in transferring model information for generating CNC cut paths.
- Creating build and assembly drawings for the pattern shop.
- Working with other pattern personnel to determine strategies for tooling rework.
