Summary:

The prestigious Tomlinson Doctoral Fellowship at McGill University 2024 is available for students pursuing a PhD degree in various subjects offered by the university. This fellowship, established in 2000 through a generous gift from Dr. Richard H. Tomlinson, is awarded annually by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) to attract exceptional students into doctoral programs. Tomlinson Scholars often go on to win other prestigious awards such as Vaniers or CGSDs.

Application Requirements:

  • Applicants must be incoming students accepted into a doctoral degree program at McGill University, starting in Winter 2024, Summer 2024, or Fall 2024.
  • Students currently enrolled at McGill or those whose latest degree was completed or in progress at McGill are not eligible.
  • Former McGill students who completed a graduate degree elsewhere can apply.
  • Visiting students at McGill, working towards a degree from another university, are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have a first-class academic record, with a GPA of 3.7 (or 3.5 in Law) in each of the last two years of full-time study at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

Fellowship Benefits:

  • Recipients of the Tomlinson Doctoral Fellowship will receive partial funding of up to CAD 35,000 per year, which can be renewed twice.
