Depending on the team, the 2024 summer internships will be located either at the Los Gatos, CA office or the Los Angeles, CA office, subject to prevailing conditions.

Market indicators are relied upon to determine compensation, while also taking into account the intern’s specific job, skills, experience, and location. As a result, intern compensation may vary based on these factors.

The team is currently seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Technical Training Program Manager Intern who will be responsible for revitalizing the Developer Education (DevEd) onboarding and continuing education program. The primary objective is to enhance the program’s interactivity, impact, and overall value.

The intern will be heavily involved in various aspects of DevEd training, including strategic planning, program delivery, and content development. This will encompass activities such as devising effective communication campaigns, monitoring metrics generating reports, and implementing collaborative training initiatives with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Furthermore, the intern will actively collaborate with the Developer Education team, seamlessly integrating with documentation lifecycle workflows and contributing to relevant projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong initiative, a genuine passion for technology and continuous learning, and the ability to think innovatively and propose scalable solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree, either in a technical or non-technical field, with an anticipated graduation date around December 2024 or Spring/Summer 2025.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing technical education programs, with a track record of achieving positive outcomes as evidenced by metrics or post-mortem documentation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in designing and executing diverse learning formats and blended instructional methods, including the creation of eLearning, Micro Learning content, live workshop facilitation, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain a culture of continuous learning within an organization, promoting its growth and potential.
  • Proficiency in navigating diverse stakeholder groups and establishing successful partnerships by effectively influencing individuals across different levels and functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, and form successful partnerships.

Preferred skills and proficiencies:

    • Possesses foundational knowledge of modern application architectures, the software development lifecycle, data processing requirements, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling.
    • Demonstrates a solid understanding of the education landscape for engineers and data scientists, including various learning styles and approaches.
    • Proven track record of consistently delivering effective technical education and organizing impactful training events that foster community-building.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the vision, strategy, and operations of Netflix Engineering’s technical onboarding and continuing education initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external program managers, instructional designers, technical writers, and facilitators to ensure the successful execution of the developer education programs.
  • Cultivate a learning culture that emphasizes inclusion and diversity within teams, interactions, and learning models.
  • Form strong partnerships with Emerging Talent, Engineering domains, and Support teams to establish continuous feedback loops, addressing the most impactful challenges.
  • Transform the onboarding and continuing education programs into a product-led approach, prioritizing user experience, and implementing relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure learning impact and refine the modules.
