ITU160 Gender Champion

International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in partnership with the Government of Canada, is celebrating its 160th anniversary by launching the ITU160 Gender Champions initiative. This program aims to recognize and empower nine young women, aged 18 to 25, who are making significant contributions to digital development and transformation worldwide.

 ITU160 Gender Champion Highlights:

  • Fully Funded Participation: Selected candidates will have their travel and accommodation expenses covered to attend key events in Geneva, Switzerland, from July 7 to 11, 2025.

  • Engagement with Global Stakeholders: Participants will have the chance to connect with leaders and experts in the digital and tech sectors, fostering valuable networks for future collaborations.

  • Amplification of Personal Work: Champions will showcase their initiatives in digital development and transformation, gaining international visibility and recognition.

  • Workshop Co-Design and Facilitation: Participants will collaboratively design and lead a workshop focused on promoting gender equality in digital transformation, contributing their unique perspectives to the discourse.

 ITU160 Gender Champion Eligibility Criteria:

  • Young women aged between 18 and 25.

  • Actively involved in impactful work related to digital transformation and development.

  • Special encouragement is extended to applicants from developing countries, least developed countries, landlocked developing countries, small island developing states, indigenous communities, and those with disabilities.

 ITU160 Gender Champion Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must submit their applications by April 6, 2025 (11:59 pm CEST).

  • The application form and detailed terms and conditions are available on the ITU website.
