Online Translator Volunteer – WHO

Translation of the health-related materials for Communication team

Summary:

The assignment is for an Online Volunteer to support the Communication and social media team of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Kazakhstan. The volunteer will be involved in translating health-related communication materials, adapting health campaigns and messages for social media, editing and adapting social media visuals, and translating press releases and short articles for media.

The duration of this assignment is 12 weeks, and the volunteer will be required to work for 11-15 hours per week. This assignment contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good health and well-being. The volunteer will receive assistance and guidance from the Communication team and have the opportunity to understand how their translations contribute to increasing public health awareness through media channels, including traditional and social media. The assignment is conducted online.

The sponsor is the United Nations Volunteers with the host entity being WHO

Location:

The assignment takes place online and Kazakhstan is the assigned country.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should be native in Russian and fluent in English.
  • Kazakh language is desirable as volunteer will be working sometimes with Kazakh texts too.
  • Previous translation experience is considered an asset.
