Quantitative Analyst Intern

Quantitative Analyst - Los Angeles Dodgers

Overview:

The Los Angeles Dodgers have an exciting internship opportunity for a Quantitative Analyst Intern. The selected intern will join the Quantitative Analysis team within Baseball Operations, where they will contribute to research and development of data-driven metrics and tools to enhance decision-making throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

The intern will collaborate with the Quantitative Analysis team to conduct research and develop statistical and machine learning models. They will utilize statistical computing software, such as R or Python, to analyze and interpret data. Additionally, the intern will assist in creating data-driven reports and presentations for various stakeholders. They will contribute to the development and improvement of data-driven tools and methodologies used by the Dodgers’ baseball operations department. Collaboration with other members of the Baseball Operations team to support ongoing projects and initiatives will also be required.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should have familiarity with statistical and/or machine learning models and possess.
  • Experience using statistical computing software, such as R or Python.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Candidates must be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
  • Availability to live and work in Los Angeles or the assigned office location throughout the 3-month program during the summer months is necessary.
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • Passion for working in the professional sports industry and a proactive and innovative mindset are highly valued.

Compensation:

$17.00/hour + housing stipend.
