Summer Intern - Security Operations, World Trade Center

Summary:

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey offers a unique summer internship opportunity for security-minded students to join the World Trade Center’s Security Operations team. This program provides valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the safety and security of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (program completion expected by Fall 2024).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Interest in security operations and emergency preparedness (a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Security Operations personnel with various tasks related to access control, monitoring systems, and security protocols.
  • Participate in security briefings and training sessions.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to support security assessments and threat mitigation strategies (as appropriate for your skill level).
  • Assist with the creation and review of security reports and procedures.
  • Observe and report on security-related activities within the World Trade Center complex.
