Calling all aspiring entertainment lawyers! This JD Internship at 20th Television Business Affairs offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of television production. Work alongside experienced attorneys and contribute to deal negotiations and agreements for scripted, live-action television programs produced by 20th Television for various platforms.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) candidate in good academic standing (ideally entering your 2nd or 3rd year)
  • Strong understanding of contract law, entertainment law (a plus), and intellectual property law (a plus)
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements related to television production (e.g., talent deals, writer agreements, option agreements)
  • Conduct legal research on relevant industry issues and precedents
  • Prepare legal memoranda and summaries to support deal negotiations
  • Participate in due diligence processes for underlying rights acquisition
  • Assist with production-related legal matters
  • Gain exposure to the television development and production process
