Summary

Calling all digital storytellers! UNICEF seeks a passionate intern to join the Communications team within the Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICTD) Division. Based in Valencia, Spain (with the option for on-site or remote work), you’ll play a key role in amplifying UNICEF’s work harnessing technology to empower children globally. This internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop your communication skills for social good.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (communications, media,  journalism, or a related field preferred).
  • Strong writing and editing skills in English (Spanish fluency a plus).
  • Social media savvy with experience in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Hootsuite).
  • Excellent research and information-gathering abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for UNICEF’s mission and a commitment to children’s rights.

Responsibilities

  • Craft compelling content (blog posts, social media messages) highlighting ICTD projects.
  • Support research and writing of press releases and other communication materials.
  • Monitor and analyze social media activity and engagement metrics.
  • Play a role in planning and coordinating communication activities for ICTD initiatives.
  • Contribute to multimedia content creation and dissemination (as assigned).
  • Assist with additional communication tasks under supervisor guidance.
