Qualifications
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the upcoming fall semester
- A demonstrated interest in maritime operations, logistics, or a related field
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities
- Assist the Operations Manager with day-to-day activities and facility needs
- Collaborate on projects to improve efficiency and standardization of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct research to support the development of a Hazardous Materials Guidance document
- Participate in research for the 2025 Tariff Update
- Attend meetings, inspections, and drills related to facility projects, events, and emergencies
- Work with Operations Representatives to enhance the Port Authority’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)
- Maintain and update operational databases
- Prepare a final report summarizing the intern’s contributions and project outcomes
