Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the upcoming fall semester
  • A demonstrated interest in maritime operations, logistics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and research skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operations Manager with day-to-day activities and facility needs
  • Collaborate on projects to improve efficiency and standardization of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Conduct research to support the development of a Hazardous Materials Guidance document
  • Participate in research for the 2025 Tariff Update
  • Attend meetings, inspections, and drills related to facility projects, events, and emergencies
  • Work with Operations Representatives to enhance the Port Authority’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)
  • Maintain and update operational databases
  • Prepare a final report summarizing the intern’s contributions and project outcomes
