Summary:
Dive into the world of water infrastructure with Fairfax Water’s Summer Internship program as an OT Network Aide/Corbalis! Gain valuable hands-on experience supporting the critical systems that deliver clean water to our community. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team, learning about automation, networking, and the essential role of technology in water management.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (preferred).
- Basic understanding of computers and networking (a plus).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enrolled as a full-time student in a college, university, or trade school for the upcoming fall semester (to qualify for the program).
- Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing (preferred).
- Pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening (mandatory).
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the review and/or development of system documentation for operational technology (OT) networks.
- Assist with inspecting, installing, and maintaining networking and computing equipment used in water treatment and distribution.
- Participate in maintaining and updating computer workstations used by Fairfax Water staff (possible).
- Gain exposure to various OT systems and protocols used in the water industry (depending on the program).
- May assist with troubleshooting minor IT issues (depending on the program).
