Stanley Liebich Memorial Scholarship at Swinburne University of Technology

The Stanley Liebich Memorial Scholarship was first established in December 1940, in memory of Stanley Ormond Crossley Liebich.

This scholarship is to support a student from a disadvantaged financial background articulating from the associate degree in engineering or advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology into the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree.

Eligibility / selection criteria

To be eligible for the Stanley Liebich Memorial Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Meet the following enrolment criteria:
    • Be articulating from the Associate Degree in Engineering OR Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology into the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), commencing in Semester 1, 2024.
    • Enrolled full time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
    • Studying on-campus
  2. Provide a personal statement to demonstrate personal and/or financial hardship (no more than 500 words)
  3. Provide evidence of financial and/or personal disadvantage. Disadvantage(s) may include:
    • Financial difficulty or low-socio economic status (Centrelink statement, payslips)
    • Disability or medical condition
    • Delay or interruption to career or studies because of family responsibilities or illness
    • Relocation from a rural or regional area in order to undertake tertiary study
    • English as a second language
    • Identification as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
    • First in family to attend university.

Scholarship benefits

The scholarship is valued at $7,500 for one year only.
