Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and social media trends.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A creative mindset and the ability to develop engaging content.
  • Familiarity with tourism and/or sports marketing is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing engaging content (e.g. website copy, social media posts) to promote Polk County’s tourism offerings and sporting events.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to understand target audiences and visitor trends.
  • Support with event marketing initiatives by creating promotional materials and assisting with social media engagement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing campaigns across various platforms (print, digital, social media).
  • Assist with managing Polk County’s tourism and sports marketing website and social media channels.
  • Participate in other duties as assigned by the Tourism and Sports Marketing Manager.
