Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (sophomores or juniors preferred)
- Strong writing and editing skills with a passion for Florida sports and a specific knowledge of the Orlando sports scene (a plus)
- A keen understanding of current sports news and trends, particularly those relevant to Central Florida
- Familiarity with digital content creation and social media platforms is a plus
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) is a plus (may vary by internship)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and write news articles, blog posts, or features on assigned sports topics specific to Central Florida
- Assist editors with fact-checking, proofreading, and content formatting for the Orlando Sentinel website
- Contribute to social media content creation for the Orlando Sentinel’s sports section
- Attend press conferences and conduct interviews with local athletes or coaches (may vary by internship)
- Assist with sports data analysis or graphics creation specific to Orlando teams (may vary by internship)
