This volunteer role provides social support and companionship to people of Chinese descent who are affected by cancer or chronic illness.

Volunteer Role:
- Provide companionship and friendship through regular home visits, phone calls, or video calls.
- Offer emotional support and a listening ear.
- Assist with errands or transportation to medical appointments (optional).
- Organize social outings or activities (depending on client’s needs and interests).
Volunteer Requirements:
- Ability to converse in Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, or both preferred).
- Positive, caring, and patient personality.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Commitment of at least 6 months for 1-1.5 hours per month (flexible options may be available).
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Visit clients regularly according to agreed schedule.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy.
- Participate in CCCIS volunteer training on various topics (e.g., communication skills, chronic illness, cultural sensitivity).
- Complete necessary records as required by CCCIS.
