Eligibility / selection criteria
To be eligible for the Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Scholarship, applicants must:
- Meet the following criteria:
- Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or Australian Permanent Resident with Humanitarian visa
- Meet the following enrolment criteria:
- be a continuing Swinburne student in Semester 1, 2024
- enrolled full-time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
- enrolled in their final year at Swinburne and expecting to finish their course in 2024.
- Achieved outstanding academic results in their completed units.
- Submit a statement of no more than 500 words on the significance of the life of Sir Edward Weary Dunlop in respect of community service.
- Provide evidence of current involvement in community affairs which must have been continuous for a period of at least two years. Community service could include:
- local government sponsored voluntary activity
- work for a recognised charitable organisation
- service with youth community organisations such as Scouts, Girl Guides, etc.
- service through community sponsored sporting activities
- community service through such schemes as the Duke of Edinburgh Award
Scholarship benefits
This scholarship is valued at $3,000 for one year only.
