This prestigious position involves working with the SDSN team and partners to facilitate regional collaboration, coordinate activities, and promote initiatives that align with sustainable development.
Main Responsibilities as SDSN Regional Focal Point for Africa :
Regional Coordination:
Act as the primary liaison between SDSN Global and its African regional networks, ensuring alignment of regional activities with the global agenda.
Capacity Building:
Support the development of regional workshops, conferences, and events to strengthen knowledge-sharing and capacity-building among stakeholders.
Advocacy and Representation:
Represent SDSN at high-level regional and international forums, promoting the network’s mission and goals.
Project Management:
Coordinate and manage regional projects and initiatives that address Africa’s unique challenges related to sustainable development.
Networking and Partnerships:
Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions, NGOs, government bodies, and private sector stakeholders to enhance collaboration.
Communication:
Ensure timely and effective communication between regional networks and SDSN Global, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills as SDSN Regional Focal Point for Africa:
- Strong knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relevance to Africa.
- Proven experience in advocacy, project coordination, or regional leadership roles.
- Excellent networking and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building partnerships.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (French is an added advantage).
- A background in development, sustainability, or related fields is preferred.
