Calling all aspiring science communicators!

The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) is offering a partial scholarship to help you pursue a Master’s degree in Science Communication.

About the Scholarship:

• Value: £1,500
• Program: MSc Science Communication

Eligibility:

• You must have applied for the MSc Science Communication program by June 14, 2024 (with a conditional or unconditional offer).
• The scholarship can only be used for the MSc Science Communication program at UWE Bristol.

How to Apply (choose one option):

1. Write a popular science article (300 words max):

   • Choose a topic in science, health, or the environment.
   • Include a catchy headline.
   • Briefly describe the publication you’d submit the article to (target audience, type of content). Explain why your article is a good fit.
   • Publications should be aimed at non-experts in science.

2. Develop a science communication activity outline (500 words max):

   • Describe your proposed activity (e.g., science festival stage show, traveling exhibition).
   • Specify the science topic and target audience.
   • Briefly explain the content and how it will be delivered.

Submission

• Email your application (article or activity outline) to Dr. Amanda Webber by June 21, 2024 (5:00 PM UK time).

Selection and Notification

• You’ll be notified of the scholarship decision by July 12, 2024.

Important Note:

• If you receive funding from another source after accepting this scholarship, please inform UWE Bristol to allow them to award it to another student.
